WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
Best Lawyers, the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession, has named Denise K. Mills as the “Denver Best Lawyers Family Law Lawyer of the Year” for 2012. After more than a quarter of a century in publication, Best Lawyers is designating “Lawyers of the Year” in high-profile legal specialties in large legal communities. Only a single lawyer in each specialty in each community is being honored as the “Lawyer of the Year.”
Best Lawyers compiles its lists of outstanding attorneys by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The lawyers being honored as “Lawyers of the Year” have received particularly high ratings in surveys by earning a high level of respect among their peers for their abilities, professionalism, and integrity.
Steven Naifeh, President of Best Lawyers, says, “We continue to believe – as we have believed for more than 25 years – that recognition by one’s peers is the most meaningful form of praise in the legal profession. We would like to congratulate Denise K. Mills on being selected as the ‘Denver Best Lawyers Family Law Lawyer of the Year’ for 2012.”
The Colorado Bar Association Family Law Section presented the prestigious ICON Award to Gina Weitzenkorn in 2011. The ICON Award was established in 2008. It is presented each year to a family law practitioner who has significantly contributed to improving the practice of family law during the course of his or her career.
The Colorado Women’s Bar Association “Raising the Bar Dinner” honors women lawyers who have made a difference in our lives and have “raised the bar” for all of us. In 2012 the Association honored the “Second Wave,” the second generation of women attorneys who continue to “raise the bar” after the first generation of women trailblazers. Gina Weitzenkorn was celebrated for her accomplishments as one of six special honorees in 2012.
